1. Introduction

Welcome to NextSip Baby Tracker. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use our mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may collect the following:

Personal Data

You can begin using the app without providing any personal information. If you choose to sign in with Google, we may receive your name, email address, and profile picture URL from your Google account. If you join a caregiver session, you provide a display name. We use this information solely for authentication and account identification.

Baby Profile Data

Baby’s name, date of birth, weight, formula type, and default feeding amount. This information is provided voluntarily by you and is used solely to deliver the app’s core tracking functionality.

Activity Logs

Feeding records (timestamps, amounts, type, and notes), breastfeeding duration (start and stop times), sleep records (start and end times, including active timer state), and diaper change records (timestamps, type). This data is used exclusively to display insights and history to you and your authorized caregivers. We do not use baby log data for analytics, advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than showing it back to you.

Caregiver Data

Invite codes and caregiver role assignments (e.g., Primary, Partner, Nanny) used to enable shared access to a baby’s profile between trusted caregivers.

Device Information

We collect non-identifying device information (model and OS version) for operational logging. We do not collect persistent hardware identifiers such as IMEI, Android ID, or Advertising ID.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data to:

Provide and maintain the core functionality of the app, including feeding, sleep, and diaper tracking.
Sync activity logs across devices and between caregivers in real time.
Schedule feeding reminders and alarms based on your preferences.
Detect and resolve data conflicts when multiple caregivers log entries simultaneously.
Improve app stability, performance, and user experience.
Comply with legal obligations and Google Play Developer Policies.

4. Data Storage and Sync

All activity logs (feeds, sleep, and diaper entries) are stored locally on your device using an on-device database. If you are signed in, this data is also synced to secure cloud, a cloud-hosted PostgreSQL database, to enable multi-device and multi-caregiver access. Synced data is used solely to display your logs and insights back to you and your authorized caregivers — it is not processed, aggregated, or used for any other purpose. Data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.

Row Level Security (RLS) policies ensure that each user can only access data for babies they are an authorized caregiver for.

5. Service Providers

We engage certain third-party service providers to perform functions and provide services to us:

Cloud Infrastructure and Database: We use a third-party cloud service provider to host our database, manage user authentication, and provide real-time data synchronization. This provider processes data strictly on our behalf and implements industry-standard security and encryption.
Error Monitoring: We use a third-party error reporting service to collect technical logs when the app crashes. This helps us identify and fix bugs. These logs may include device information (model, OS version) and stack traces. They do not contain personal identifiers or baby profile data.
Essential Platform Services: The app utilizes core Google Play Services for system-level functionality and security.

We do not use any advertising SDKs or third-party marketing trackers.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your baby’s activity data is shared only with caregivers you have explicitly invited via a unique invite code. No data is shared with advertisers or data brokers.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your data at any time through the app’s Settings screen — this applies to all users, including those using the app without a linked Google account (anonymous users). The “Delete All Data” option in Settings removes all data from both the local device database and our cloud servers.

If you no longer have the app installed, you can request account and data deletion by emailing us at contact@nextsip.app. To request account and data deletion via the web, please visit: Google form.

Upon deletion, all associated data (baby profiles, activity logs, caregiver associations, and invite codes) is permanently removed.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our app is a tool designed for parents and caregivers to track infant care activities. The app does not target children as users and does not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 13. All data entered into the app is provided by adult caregivers.

9. Permissions

The app requests the following device permissions:

Internet: Required to sync data with the cloud and authenticate your account.
Notifications: Used to deliver feeding reminders and alarms you have configured.
Exact Alarms: Used to schedule precise feeding reminder notifications.
Boot Completed: Used to reschedule your feeding alarms after a device restart.

All permissions are used solely to provide the app’s core functionality.

10. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (TLS), row-level database access policies, and secure authentication via Google OAuth or anonymous sign-in. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date.
